⭐⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

Below the Burrow is my first introduction to Taylor Z. Adams, and it’s a debut that lingers long after I finished reading. There is an aching beauty to this story, underscored by a sadness that looms overhead.

The prose feels like a classic fairy tale but Adams doesn't follow the modern trend to sanitize the shadows. The narrative allows a creeping, bleak darkness to seep into the cracks of the story. It’s a slow-burn descent; by the time you realize how high the stakes have risen, you’re already attached to the characters.

What struck me most was the dynamic between the players and the eerie, cosmic balance that dictates their world. Adams is a master of suspense, keeping the reader off-balance and guessing until the final moments. By the conclusion, I found myself breathless, cheering for Kimmy. Below the Burrow is a haunting, beautifully executed tale that cosmic blends with heartfelt words.

Thanks for reading!
