Small Tales & Visits to Heaven xi ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
The story follows Caeli (pronounced Sila), a Canadian spiritualist and artist whose life is a constant bridge between the mundane and the miraculous. Set against the backdrop of quiet Canadian towns, the narrative transforms everyday occurrences, like moving into a century-old home, and other unexplained occurrences into spiritual lessons. Lachapelle’s prose is as vivid as the primary colors she uses on her canvases. The tale does not shy away from the darker aspects of spiritual growth. From con artists and shape-shifters like Lenore to the Shadow that lurks in the corners of the spirit world, the stakes feel remarkably high. Some of the most breathtaking scenes are described with a raw, cinematic intensity. Small Tales and Visits to Heaven XI is an invitation to "smell the roses" and "dream of the possibilities in between the here and there" and is a rare gem.
