Swampland Arrival, Gators Welcome

We arrived at our home for a few months. The very place that featured a 2000's video of the Skunkape. I navigated the Mothership out of the last of civilization which was, Naples, Florida, and branched onto Taimiami Trail. The land grew devoid of anything but some traffic, evident that we were heading toward desolation.
Businesses and signs of life became less and less as swampy land surrounded the road on either side. There was cane grass, palms of several varieties, pines, cypress and birds everywhere the eye could see. It was as if we were driving in a different world or a different place in time altogether. As I drove, I tried to focus on the road but was enamored by the variety of wildlife and nature cohabitating. I saw my first alligator resting and taking in the sun. This prehistoric creature looked black in contrast to the blue sky and sunshine. We drove about thirty miles south and pulled into the Mothership's new home base in Ochopee. As we pulled in we were greeted by multiple statues of the Skunkape standing erect throughout the facade.
After settling the Mothership into her new spot Maria and I realized we were surrounded by quiet solitude. I couldn't wait for the dark at night, the potential of seeing a Skunkape ran rampant in my overactive mind, as the new warmth of the Florida Everglades filled us both with awe. Nighttime was black, no distractions, no fevered city glow as far as the eye could see, and I snapped a few astrophotography pics. I think we'll bode well down here, even with the tiny blood sucking mosquitoes, the good far outweigh the bad, and what kind of life would it be without natural obstacles? Thanks for coming along with us on the journey.
