Seven, a Movie That Stands the Test of Time

Welcome to WOW Wednesday Movie Pick, brought to you by Tim Eagle.

In the world of Working on Wednesday, (WOW), I give you a middle of the week movie pick, and a quick review!

Today I'm reviewing, Seven, a classic, and a must watch for the younger generation who may have missed out. I hope this is your movie pick of the week and that you rent it, add it to your collection, or just enjoy the magic...

Now for a blast from the past for the younger audience here on the blog. Seven stars Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, and dare I mention Kevin Spacey (who has been cancelled, as should be). The dark, gritty, rainy atmosphere and the intense dark scenes that occurred around seven deadly sins will quickly pull you in, and make you forget an important element of the entire movie. You instantly submerged in the drizzle and dark demure. As the crimes deepen, and the metaphor of Freeman’s character’s looming retirement gets closer, the movie draws you to the gripping end. This was the first of its kind to drown me in a sub-genre of writing, that I never had an interest in before. The tale laces itself in and out of Dante’s Divine Comedy and St. Thomas Aquinas' writing where the killer emulates and delves into the bizarre rituals of the written word . The religious aspect of these writings are maddening enough, let alone a serial killer committing his crimes around said sins. A dark crime movie that will leave your jaw hanging as long as you haven’t looked on Google for spoilers. I have watched this many times, and will probably watch many more times in my life.
