Welcome to WOW Wednesday Movie Pick, brought to you by Tim Eagle.
In the world of Working on Wednesday, (WOW), I give you a middle of the week movie pick, and a quick review!
Today I'm reviewing, The Father, a movie staring one of America's favorites, Anthony Hopkins. I hope this movie is your pick of the week and you can add it to you movie queue!
Fair warning: The Father, starring Anthony Hopkins, is a tear jerker. The movie pulls you into the mind of a man battling age, and his relationship with his daughter. Anthony Hopkins delivers an outstanding performance, and the set of this entire movie pulls you in so far you don’t realize that you’ve been tossed into Hopkins’ character’s riddled mind as the set and small apartment moves around, and events become more complex. The mind is a fragile thing and as the movie unfolds and the character we come to know and love goes deeper into the disease of his own mind, sadness is prevalent. This is a real-life take on aging, the relationships with family, and the way it burdens the person suffering from it. Hopkins’ delivers a stellar performance and the end scene will, or should, bring some tears.
