Full disclosure on Disclosure, a timeless classic with clunky technology...

Welcome to WOW Wednesday Movie Pick, brought to you by Tim Eagle.

In the world of Working on Wednesday, (WOW), I give you a middle of the week movie pick, and a quick review!

Today I'm reviewing, Disclosure Michael Douglas, circa 1994, put himself in somewhat of a typecast in the nineties, read below for more. Maybe this review will make it to your to be watched list, and you'll indulge in it for some weekend watching?...

One of those typecasts was a white male who falls for a female who becomes obsessed with him after she seduces and fucks him. Disclosure and Fatal Attraction come to mind are those typecasts. This movie stars Demi Moore, Donald Sutherland, and several other familiar faces. A female comes is promoted in the tech world, unheard of in the 90's, and the tech world is exploding with the most recent (laughable today) technology, a CD-ROM drive (what’s that?). Michael Douglas’ character gets passed up for that same promotion. For the mid-nineties, this movie tackles women getting paid less, women being treated unfair in the work force having to endure a man’s passes, and harassment and turns it around on the man. The tables are turned in this movie, and the trope is turned upside down. In Disclosure, a woman is doing the harassing, and a woman in power is the underlying threat to a very male dominant work place. If you can get around the time backwards technicalities, i.e. the large cell phones that were “smaller, better, faster,” and the weirdly large computer monitors, you’ll be good and ready to strap down and watch it. Although Disclosure probably had its heyday in the movies, I still think it’s a good watch…tell me what you think in the comments below...
